1. Ready to admit it's harder than it looks?

(보기보다 어렵다는 걸 인정할 준비 됐어?)

 

- it's harder than it looks  보는 것보다 어렵다

- ready to admit  인정할 준비됐지?

- ex : It's much harder than it looks 보는 것보다 훨씬 어렵다

- ex : It's way harder than it looks 보는 것보다 훨씬 어렵다

- ex : Running is harder than it looks 뛰는 것은 보기보다 훨씬 어렵다.

- ex : It's way simpler than I thought. 생각한 거보다 훨씬 간단하네요.

 

2. I'll get Penny's flowers back and come out of that city as pure as the driven snow

(난 저 도시에서 페니의 꽃을 되찾고 쌓인 눈만큼 순수한 상태로 저 마을에서 나올 거예요.)

 

-  simile  ~와 비교를 해서 듣는 사람이 이해를 빨리 할 수 있도록 하는 표현법.

- as pure as driven snow 하얀 눈처럼 순수하게

- as brave as lion 사자처럼 용감한

- as cunning as fox 여우처럼 영리한

- as tall as giraffe 기린처럼 키가 큰

 

- driven 날려서 쌓인 이라는 뜻. as pure as the driven snow  쌓인 눈처럼 순수한, 결백한.

- ex : My intentions here are as pure as the driven snow. 지금 내 의도는 눈처럼 순수하다고.

- ex : My mind is as pure as the driven snow. 내 마음은 쌓인 눈처럼 순수해

- ex : None of us are as pure as the driven snow. 쌓인 눈처럼 결백한 사람은 없어.

 

3. Okay, I admit, it's -it's harder than I thought

(알았어 인정할게 생각보다 어렵네)

 

-  It + be동사/일반동사 + 비교급 than I thought  내 생각보다 더 ~하다

-  ex : It's easier than I thought  생각보다 더 쉽네

- ex : It's way simpler than I thought 생각보다 훨씬 간단하네

- ex : It took longer than I thought  생각보다 더 오래 걸렸어

 

* 단어가 3음절 이상일 경우, 비교급에서 -er가 아닌 more를 붙여줌.  ex : more difficult / more beautiful

 

4. In fact, he's about to help that little crying kid

(실은 저기 울고 있는 꼬마도 지금 도와줄 거예요)

 

- in fact  사실은 = actually

- 뒷받침. 보충할 자세한 정보를 덧붙일 때  not far from where i live, in fact 사실은 내가 사는 곳에서 멀지 않은 데야.

-  상반되는 말/진실을 강조할 때  it's not that hard. in fact, it's really easy. 그렇게 어렵지 않아, 실은 진짜 쉽지

 

5. We wanna turn your frown all the way around

(너의 찡그린 얼굴을 이렇게 거꾸로 돌려놓고 싶어)

 

- turn that frown upside down 찡그린 얼굴을 거꾸로 뒤집어라. 얼굴 찌푸리지 말고 웃으며 기운 내라는 뜻

-  ex : Turn that frown upside down It's never as bad as you think 너무 찌푸리지 말고 기운 내, 생각만큼 끔찍하지 않기 마련이야.
